Cocopeat is a natural fibre made from coconut husks. The coconut palm ( Cocos nucifera) grows extensively throughout the tropics and sub-tropics, and is frequently referred to as the "Tree of Life" for it's multitude of uses - food, oil, firewood from the husk and shell, thatching, baskets, charcoal and palm toddy. The palm may live up to 100 years, and can survive in harsh environments such as sandy saline soils, and in addition to its useful domestic products it is a substantial income earner for millions of people.

The extraction of the coconut fibre from husks gives the  by-product called cocopeat, a 100% natural growing medium. The cocopeat is dried in the sun without artificial heat, and is then processed to produce items such as cocopeat bales, cocopeat bags, briquettes, tablets, and growbags. Cocopeat makes an excellent growing medium for hydroponics or container plant growing. Clean coir has natural rooting hormones and anti-fungal properties. Most of all cocopeat is a 100% naturally organic and root friendly product.
